(LONDON) - The U.K. success of California modern rock act Cake's current Mercury album, Fashion Nugget, has prompted the label to release the band's independently pressed 1995 debut set in the territory. Motorcade Of Generosity, recorded in a $10-an-hour Sacramento, Calif., studio and issued in the U.S. by Capricorn, will be out July 21. The third single from Fashion Nugget, "Frank Sinatra," will be released a week earlier. The album's two previous singles, "The Distance" and "I Will Survive," both reached the U.K. top 30. A Mercury spokesman puts the U.K. sales of Fashion Nugget at 20,000.
