Album Reviews
Consider this bewildering four-song EP the first misstep in the illustrious career of Cafe Tacuba, a Mexican quartet that, together with Argentina's Fabulosos Cadillacs, stands at the forefront of the Latin-rock movement. Tacuba are known for their gleefully eccentric choices, but this time they've overdone it a bit, covering tunes by the obscure -- and now defunct -- Chilean group Los Tres. Even the foursome's knack for quirky arrangements can't disguise the iffy quality of the original material.
