"[It's] such a trip playing and singing with different people in a different environment," Rossdale posts on Bush's official site. "It's not a Bush thing," he continued, "it's going under my name." His backing band for the track included A Perfect Circle drummer Josh Freese.
Last month, Rossdale confirmed that founding Bush guitarist Nigel Pulsford had left the band to spend time with his family and had been replaced by former Helmet axeman Chris Traynor, who is touring with Bush on their European trek behind last year's Golden State. The announcement followed two months of speculation that all was not well with the band, which formed in London in 1992. Rossdale, frustrated by the rumors, expressed his determination to push forward and make "the best Bush record we can make. And we will make it with Chris."
XXX is due in theatres in August.
