BT's Studio Robbed

Master tapes lifted from producer/DJ

Posted Jan 02, 2002 12:00 AM

BT's [Brian Transeau] Los Angeles studio was robbed while he was in London for the holidays. The perpetrators made off with not only expensive equipment but also tracks the producer/DJ had recorded for his upcoming fourth album and follow-up to 2000's Movement in Still Life.

According to a post on BT's Web site, the thieves took "computers, synths, hard drives" and "most of album number four," for which BT had already recorded collaborations with Peter Gabriel, Jan Johnston and Way Out West.

"No, he did not have any off-site backups," the post continues, offering "a huge reward and no questions asked" for the goods' return. "Brian just wants his music back."

Any information about the crime should be sent to BTRobbery@bt-network.org.
