Elton, Sting Join Hornsby

New album also features guest spot by Eric Clapton

Bruce Hornsby has enlisted Sting, Elton John and Eric Clapton to appear on his eighth studio album, Halcyon Days, due August 10th.

The eleven-track album is Hornsby's first since 2002's electronica-tinged curveball Big Swing Face, which itself followed 1998's sprawling, jazzy Spirit Trail. The set looks to be a return to a more classic sound from Hornsby, who again teams with producer Wayne Pooley, with whom he's been recording for eleven years. Halcyon will also be Hornsby's first record for Columbia after eighteen years with RCA.

"Gonna Be Some Changes Made," featuring a guest vocal by Sting, will be the first single. John adds his voice to "Dreamland," while Clapton plays guitar on a trio of songs and adds a vocal to "Candy Mountain Run."

Hornsby will showcase some of the new material on a summer tour set to launch July 14th in Saratoga, California.

Halcyon Days track list:

"Gonna Be Some Changes Made"
"Candy Mountain Run"
"Dreamland"
"Circus on the Moon"

"What the Hell Happened"
