Picking up in 2003 where they left off thirty-eight years ago, Brian Wilson and Van Dyke Parks -- with a big assist from Wilson's musical director, Darian Sahanaja -- finally finish a work that should logically be a corny shadow of its aborted 1966 vision but instead ranks in symphonic beauty, goofy humor and spiritual loveliness with the Beach Boys' greatest achievements.
