Although they may not be "drinking in L.A." with the stars, Canada's Bran Van 3000 will hit the stage with a lot of big names this summer. |

The nine-piece outfit only released their debut album, Glee (Capitol), in March, but Bran Van have already garnered the attention of some very large international acts. First, between May 18 and June 9, Bran Van will tour Europe as an opening act for both Bjork and Massive Attack on separate tours.

In mid-June, Bran Van will support Pulp on two dates (June 12 in Boston and June 16 in New York) and then head north to their hometown of Montreal with Prodigy on June 23.

Later this summer, Bran Van will link up with the H.O.R.D.E. Festival on Aug. 25 in Phoenix. At press time, they were confirmed for seven dates through Sept. 5 in Portland, Ore.

So how is it that such a new group has gained so much attention so quickly? "A lot of people have had a chance to see them live," a spokeswoman for Bran Van told JAMTV on Thursday. "They're now fans and are jumping on the bandwagon. People just really like them, I guess."

Bran Van 3000 will spend the next few months on the road promoting Glee. At this time, they have no plans to work on any special projects or new music. (Ari Bendersky)
