Biography
Before Monty Python, there was Bonzo. A remarkably inventive gang
of wits, this late-'60s London quintet did twisted vaudeville,
delivering custard-pie funny bits with an acid-era sense of the
absurd. Lord Buckley and Lenny Bruce were among their influences;
the satirical pieces of the Mothers of Invention provided an
American parallel (although the Bonzos were far more cheery).
