Raitt Bares Her "Souls"

Blues legend gets intimate on eighteenth album

Bonnie Raitt will release Souls Alike on September 13th. The follow-up to 2002's Silver Lining was produced by the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer herself, with help from Tchad Blake (Sheryl Crow, Paul McCartney).

Known for her rollicking, guitar-based blues, Raitt focuses on more introspective songwriting on Souls. The first single, "I Will Not Be Broken," was inspired by the recent deaths of her parents, as well as her brother's bout with brain cancer. "It's been a heavy time," Raitt said.

A longtime political activist, Raitt was an outspoken member of last year's Vote for Change Tour. She plans to tour the U.S. behind Souls in the fall.
