Spencer to Explode Out West

Blues Explosion will tour with Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Liars

New York-based alt-rockers the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion will tour the West Coast this fall with fellow Big Apple indie bands the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Liars. The tour opens September 17th in Costa Mesa, California, and closes October 5th in San Diego.

The Blues Explosion -- singer Jon Spencer, guitarist Judah Bauer and drummer Russel Simmins -- will support Matador's re-release of April's Plastic Fang, which also includes a DVD, complete with live footage, interviews and videos for "She Said" and "Sweet & Sour."

Both supporting bands have reason to tour, as well. On the garage-punk strength of 2001's self titled EP, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are being courted by several major labels, and, on August 20th, the Liars will re-release their debut full-length, They Threw Us All in a Trench and Stuck a Monument on Top.

Jon Spencer Blues Explosion Tour dates:

9/17: Costa Mesa, Detroit Bar
