Yes, it is true that Jon Spencer Blues Explosion will no longer play on this year's Lollapalooza tour. But, according to our sources, the rumor that the band was paid to take a hike is false. "It was an amicable parting," a spokeswoman from Scoop Marketing, publicists for Lollapalooza, said. "Jon wanted to be off the tour and the Lollapalooza people didn't do anything to keep him." However, it seems that Lollapalooza management was unhappy that the Blues Explosion played the Tibetan Freedom Concert, an event that was televised on MTV and is fairly close to the start date of the Lolla tour. Stay tuned to JAMTV for breaking details about the truth of the offing of JSBE and who, if anyone, will replace Spencer on Lolla to join the likes of Korn, Tricky, Tool, Snoop Doggy Dogg. (AB)
