Black Star Staying with Rawkus

Contrary to the rumors, Black Star has no plans to move from Rawkus

The rumors concerning Black Star leaving their label, Rawkus Records, appear to be just that -- rumors sparked by Mos Def signing a distribution deal with MCA for his own label, Good Tree Records. The truth is that Mos is still under contract to record two full length albums for Rawkus, and Kweli has a solo LP in the works. But there is no word yet on whether there will be another Black Star album.

Meanwhile, Mos's untitled solo project is scheduled for release in July, and Kweli is currently in the studio recording tracks for an upcoming release by Reflection Eternal, tentatively titled Train of Thought. Kweli is also finishing up cuts for DJ Hi-Tek's solo album. - Bonanno
