Album Reviews
Here are the basics according to Beenie Man: licentiousness, libertine behavior and just the thinnest veneer of innuendo. Following his sometimes thrilling, often watery last effort, 2002's Tropical Storm, the dancehall legend returns to form here. And the form he prefers has ample curves: Nearly every song is bawdy, and some, such as "Dr. Know," are almost comically lewd. Even the low-concept stuff -- "Love All Girls" and "Get On Bad," where he promises to "make your coochie vibrate like a cell" -- sounds irresistible, thanks to a can't-fail
array of beats from Jamaican heavyweight Dave Kelly, among others. "Grindacologist" is a play on military marches, and in between drumrolls, Beenie makes his position clear: "Move off a girl [if] she nah move right." Well, now that's settled.
