While this ain't the BEST road mix I've herd, it's pretty real close. I mean, come on, three words: Blue. Oyster. Cult. You can't fear the reaper when you're tearing down ol' 66 - and the Cult just totally knew that.

Also, when I'm getting lazy on my lunch stop, maybe eatin' an extra peace of that deeelish cafe apple pie, it's BTO's "Roll on Down the Highway" that gets rollin' on down the highway again. And if the hog-like rumble of "Smoke on the Water" doesn't get you psyked to bike, then jump up to The Scorpionses' always-howling "Rock you Like a Hurricane."

Just thinking about this album makes me want to slip into my chaps and cruise on down to San Berdoo!

(My only complaint is that I can't find the cassette version anymore - that's the way to go!)

This album isn't for everyone, but if you are a balding dentist, accountant, advertising executive, or upper-middle manager with a goatee who enjoys wearing jeans with white sneakers, this may be the album for you. It's long enough to get you through the 100 miles of trailering your bike to the annual "bike rally", where you engage in light beer-fueled "mayhem" such as yelping encouragement to a 50 year old bleached woman who threatens to flash the crowd, and possibly some loud belching. This CD is a great addition to minivan trips to Home Depot, and may be the perfect soundtrack to your heartland games of Texas Hold 'Em, where you and the guys can bemoan the latest body piercing that your teen is getting during her first year at State.

What could be worse than Seger paired with a Harley? A human being and a machine that both turn out noise pollution. On a positive note, motorcyle fatalities were up 33% in one year due to Seger fans killing themselves on their badass mid-life crisis hogs without helmets - suburban high fivin' Dads. I'm glad that Harley (and Seger!) were there to profit from the wholesale carnage
