Audioslave Plot U.S. Tour

Hard rockers to launch their first North American trek behind second album

Audioslave will finally hit the road in support of their latest album, Out of Exile. The alt-rockers topped the charts in May when they dropped their sophomore album, which sold 100,000 more copies in its first week than the band's 2002 self-titled debut.

The former Rage Against the Machine and Soundgarden members marked the release of Exile with a historical performance in Cuba, making then the first rock band to play the communist country since Billy Joel and Bonnie Raitt visited twenty-six years ago.

On their much-anticipated North American trek, the band will offer up Exile's blockbuster singles "Be Yourself" and "Out of Exile," as well as classics from the members' former bands. "The way they play the Soundgarden songs, like 'Loud Love,' is just amazing," frontman Chris Cornell told Rolling Stone in July. "And when Tom [Morello] plays the solo on 'Killing in the Name,' it reminds me of seeing Rage Against the Machine at Lollapalooza '96. That moment is the reason I got in a room with them to see if we could be a band."

Audioslave will be joined by fellow California hard rockers Seether, who released their second album, Karma and Effect, on May 24th, the same day as Out of Exile.
