The name is apt: with the bruising, serrated rave riffs of "Ego War" and the mutant electro of "We Don't Care," Audio Bullys split the difference between big-beat bombast and exuberant house grooves. West Londoners Simon Franks and Tom Dinsdale clinch the deal with their combination of blokey MC banter and schoolyard singsong raps -- they sound both hard and chummy. You'll be reminded of the Streets, of course. But there are plenty of other great British eccentrics (the Kinks, Ian Dury) hiding in Audio Bullys' DNA as well.
