At the Drive-In Take a Break

Texas rockers cancel tour

Posted Mar 28, 2001 12:00 AM

After a half-dozen years on the road, Texas' At the Drive-In has taken an indefinite break from their career. The band, who enjoyed their greatest year in 2000, has cancelled all of their April dates.

"After a six-year, non-stop cycle of record/tour/record/tour," said guitarist Omar Rodriguez, "we are going on an indefinite hiatus. We need time to rest-up and re-evaluate, just to be human beings again and to decide when we feel like playing music again."

While the band's single "One-Armed Scissor" remains on MTV and MTV 2's playlists as well as Billboard's Modern Rock Chart, the band has returned home. At press time they refused comment.
