Ashanti leads all nominees for the upcoming American Music Awards with five nominations. The R&B singer is up for Favorite Album and Favorite Hip Hop/R&B Album for her self-titled debut as well as Favorite New Artist, Favorite New Hip Hop/R&B Artist and Favorite Hip Hop/R&B Female artist. Eminem and Nelly received four nominations each, and they will go head to head in the Favorite Male Artist and the Favorite Album categories.

Creed, Linkin Park and Celine Dion were also multiple nominees, and American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson picked up a nomination for Favorite New Artist.

The awards ceremony will be held on January 13th at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The Osbournes -- Ozzy, Sharon, Jack and Kelly -- will host.
