Aphex Twin (a.k.a. Richard D. James) will release a double-disc remix album by the end of the year, including new takes on songs by Beck, St. Etienne, DMX Krew and Mike Flowers Pops.

"This album brings together over thirty hard to find, old, new, and unreleased remixes that Aphex has completed throughout his career," read a post on his Web site. "Ranging from beautiful ambient to brutal classics with all the AFX magic in the middle, this double CD/quad vinyl anthology features a diverse line-up of artists and bands who have received the Aphex transformation treatment."

In other news, Aphex Twin is set to play in Japan on September 28th as part of the It's A Beautiful Day festival, which will all also feature the Boredoms and Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros.
