A Perfect Circle make the rounds on headlining tour

After finishing up the Canadian Summersault 2000 tour (with Smashing Pumpkins and the Foo Fighters) in mid-August, post-Tool outfit A Perfect Circle will make the rounds in America on their own solo outing, beginning Aug. 18 in Boston. The band -- which sports Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan as its singer -- had plenty of time to get its act together opening for Nine Inch Nails, a band for whom Circle guitarist Billy Howerdel was once a guitar tech.

After A Perfect Circle's tour wraps Sept. 16 in Houston, Tex., Keenan is scheduled to join his former band to finish working on Tool's new album with producer David Bottrill. Meanwhile, A Perfect Circle's drummer Josh Freese -- who's played with Guns N' Roses, Paul Westerberg and the Vandals -- released his solo album, The Notorious One Man Orgy, this week.
