If the words avant hip-hop make you squirm, this collaboration ain't gonna change your mind. Too many tracks feature negligible electronic programming laid over rote free jazz from pianist Shipp's usually sharp ensemble, and when the Consortium take over, all you get is underground rhyming at its most brainy and least urgent.
