Ani DiFranco is slated to release her next project, Little Plastic Castle, on Feb. 17.|

Ron Ehmke, a spokesman for Righteous Babe, Ani's Buffalo, N.Y.-based indie label, confirmed that the album will be out next February. Ehmke told JAMTV that Ani is joined by a variety of talented session musicians: Jon Hassell, an avant garde trumpeter who's played with Brian Eno; Jerry Moratta, Peter Gabriel's former drummer; and Sara Lee, Ani's road bassist whose credits include playing with the B52s and Indigo Girls.

Little Plastic Castle features both studio tracks and live recordings of songs like "Fuel" and "Independence Day." Also, a new version of "Gravel" will be included as will a 14-minute jam backing the poem "Pulse."

In related news, Ani performs on "Sessions at West 54th" on Jan. 3 and will also make a guest appearance on the Fox animated sitcom "King of the Hill" next spring. (Ari Bendersky)
