Album Reviews
The towering highlight of this soundtrack is Amerie's "1 Thing," which features an inspired use of the Meters' drum-heavy rendition of "Oh, Calcutta" -- it's possibly the best sample in mainstream R&B since the Chi-Lites helped BeyoncE get horn-y on "Crazy in Love." Elsewhere, sweet new tracks from Earth, Wind and Fire and John Legend mix with soul classics.
