I think Against Me! has a badass sound! There are a couple of tracks I'm not terribly fond of but most of their stuff is pretty original and solid sounding. The actually have an Official Kyte Channel on their myspace where they produce their own content....http://www.myspace.com/againstme

I can't believe I had to 'join' this site just to stick up for these guys! First, I find Against Me! is as hard as ever lyrically. They're one constant has been the abilty to cover politics, love, and plain old being pissed off at stupidity. The music has changed, some. I don't believe as much as people whine that it has and in my opinion, its better. And look at it from they're eyes. A chance to hit it big and really get there message out, work with some real pro's (Butch Vig is a legend), tour with great artists (currently w/ Foo Fighters)... it's a musicains dream. Much love to Against Me! for doin it there way. Oh, yeah- eff the rolling stone.

Never heard of them before seeing them mentioned by a friend.
Then I saw New Wave in Rolling Stone. I got a copy. I listened to it all today.
It was...liberating. It felt so natural, passionate. I felt like these guys were opening up to me.

The other online reviewers of this album sure have been hard on it. Not knowing anything about this band and hearing them for the first time by listening to this album I have to say I find the music energetic and engaging. I find the lyrics and vocal performance to be passionate and intelligent. In a world where one time through is more than enough for most recordings, I think this one is good enough to deserve repeated enjoyable listenings. Lighten up, folks. This album is very good.

SO I've never really liked against me, but all my friends were rabid for them. Now I like them and they bought the new CD and had a Burn the against me CD burning party.
What does that say about me?
Apparently it says I should burn all my music.
Poor poor me.
