AEROSMITH:
ROCKIN' THE JOINT (Sony / BMG)
Aerosmith live from Vegas? Pinch me, pinch me again. Elvis, Wayne Newton and now Steve Tyler, it's a natural progression isn't it? There really aren't enough live documents of the bombastic blues butchery that is the Aerosmith experience out there (the best of comps outnumber the concert slabs seven to four). Sure they may have run out of steam somewhere in the mid seventies, but heck, that never stopped a great cash cow, and Steve and boys sure know how to milk it. You have to skip past the recent turgid rock wank numbers to get to the big finish, but man oh man, it's worth every casino chip. As they kick off Draw The Line Tyler reminds everyone that indeed Joe Perry is in the house, just in case folks were wondering about the whereabouts of the guitarist. Good to know since Joe has a tendency to wander off, and the encore is coming up. It looks as if the bad boys of rock have finally got their act together to pull off Vegas, now let's see what they can do in Ottawa. (Sekerka)
