On this lovely album of folk-tronic lullabies, Adem Ilhan's creaky Beck-like vocals are backed by warm acoustic instrumentation recorded at whisper volumes. But Homesongs is also capable of grand emotions, as on the stirring "These Are Your Friends," which offers poignant redemption in its simple, building refrain: "Everybody needs some help sometimes."
